New York Knicks Topple Bulls 128-116 to End Chicago's Undefeated Run

The New York Knicks defeated the Chicago Bulls 128–116 on Sunday night at Madison Square Garden, handing Chicago its first loss of the season and snapping New York’s three-game losing streak.
The Knicks put together one of their most complete performances of the young season, driven by hot shooting, balanced scoring, and aggressive play on both ends of the floor.
Jalen Brunson led the way with 31 points, setting the tone early by scoring 19 in the first quarter and orchestrating the offense with precision.
Karl-Anthony Towns added 20 points and 15 rebounds, providing a dominant inside presence and controlling the boards throughout the game.
New York’s offense caught fire from beyond the arc, hitting 20 of 42 three-pointers, including 13 in the first half. They also capitalized at the free throw line, making all 22 of their attempts.
The Knicks’ bench delivered a much-needed spark, contributing 46 points after struggling in recent outings.
Jordan Clarkson and Josh Hart combined for timely buckets and defensive energy, helping maintain the lead whenever Chicago made a push. The team’s improved ball movement and communication were evident, with New York consistently finding open looks and outworking the Bulls on second-chance opportunities.
For Chicago, Josh Giddey recorded a triple-double with 23 points, 12 rebounds, and 12 assists, but it wasn’t enough to keep up with the Knicks’ offensive rhythm.
The Bulls, who entered the game as one of the league’s best defensive teams against three-point shooting, couldn’t contain New York’s perimeter attack.
Despite competitive stretches in the first half, Chicago fell behind by double digits midway through the third quarter as the Knicks exploded for 37 points in the period.
New York’s composure down the stretch stood out. Every time the Bulls threatened to close the gap, Brunson responded with clutch baskets and decisive plays.
The Knicks’ defense also tightened in the final minutes, forcing turnovers and limiting Chicago’s transition chances. The win brings renewed optimism to a Knicks team that had struggled to find consistency early in the season. Brunson’s leadership and Towns’ presence in the paint gave fans a glimpse of what this group can achieve when clicking on all cylinders.
For the Bulls, the loss serves as an early test of resilience after their strong 5–0 start.
Next up, the Knicks will stay home to face the Washington Wizards as they look to build on this momentum.
The Bulls return to Chicago to host the Philadelphia 76ers, aiming to bounce back and reassert themselves near the top of the Eastern Conference standings.
